Origin Story

Hamilton Perkins was founded by …(drumroll) Hamilton Perkins. This fashion entrepreneur has his roots in banking and previously worked at Merrill Lynch as an Investment Advisor and as an Analyst at Bank of America. But in 2014, Perkins was fed up with the lack of travel bags on the market that were cool to carry but also made him feel proud to own, so he decided to take a stab at it himself. He created his own travel bag, The Earth Bag Premium, which became the brand’s first SKU. Since then, Hamilton Perkins has gone on to win numerous awards including being named by the non-profit B Lab "Best for the World Overall" B Corporation in 2017.

Who knew a bag could be so cool? Hamilton Perkins sells eco-friendly bags made from recycled plastic bottles and repurposed billboard vinyl. Each bag is made of approximately 17.5 recycled plastic water bottles, one square yard of vinyl, and 10 pineapple leaves. Their bags come in a range of colors, styles and sizes to fit any occasion.

For example, The Premium Earth Bag is basically two bags in one and is made to withstand your crazy weekend with the squad; it’s water-repellant, can fit a 15-inch” laptop, has built-in compartments for valuable, small items like passport & phone, and has adjustable straps and clips so it can be worn as a backpack or simply carried as the weekender duffel bag. Plus, It can fit in the overhead bin, so don’t worry about anyone impatiently sighing as you board the plane.
