- the Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress,
- the Zenhaven Natural Latex Mattress
- the Saatva HD Hybrid Mattress
- and the Solaire Mattress.
Saatva's mattresses span four mattress types: innerspring, memory foam, latex, and hybrid. Depending on the type of mattress, the construction features stacked layers of steel coils, foam, memory foam, latex foam, or a combination of these materials – that vary in density and height. Each os Saatva's mattresses are available in all sizes, from twin to California king.
In this review, we focus on Saatva's most popular mattress, the Saatva Classic Mattress, and Leesa's most popular mattress, the Sapira.
Mattress Materials & Construction
While memory foam is very comfortable, it is also very dense, which means it retains and traps heat – especially when compressed. Which means that mattresses built entirely out of memory foam are bound to run warm.
Leesa places their higher-density foam layers underneath a top layer of exclusive, custom designed, breathable foam, ensuring that their mattresses remain both supportive and cool throughout the night. For Leesa mattresses, the dense, foam base layer ensures comfortable, full-body support, regardless of how a person sleeps. The Leesa Hybrid, Sapira, and Legend add in a layer of individually wrapped coiled steel springs, giving additional edge support and bounce for those who need it.

"We had a 2018 Serta hybrid and then a more comfortable foam mattress made by a manufacturer for Tempur-Pedic, and neither could compare to the comfort of this Leesa hybrid. It is wonderful to lie down without questioning how restful the night might be. This mattress is very supportive without being too firm. It cushions the body without sinking into the mattress, and there is no difficulty changing position and no motion carryover to disturb a partner. Leesa took the risk out of buying a mattress online sight-unseen, but sleeping on a bad mattress even for a few days is still a risk no one wants to take. Frankly, though, there has been nothing not to like about this mattress, and it has given quality sleep since night one. We highly recommend this Leesa hybrid mattress."
- C.G.
The Midnight Luxe is Helix's most popular mattress, and at first glance, is quite similar to Leesa's Sapira. Both feature a hybrid design, including layers of premium foam, memory foam, and an innerspring layer for support. However, to ensure optimal temperature regulation, Helix recommends purchasing an additional product, a cooling topper, to get the most out of this mattress. For customers, that means paying an extra $200 on top of the mattresses over-$2,000 price tag.
Multiple customer reviews also express some concern over Helix's motion transfer regulation and edge support.

"Not enough motion isolation and edge support for us. The firmness and comfort were fine. The reason we decided to return our queen was because there wasn't enough motion isolation and edge support. We would wake each other up at night when one of us moved around, and it felt like we could roll off the bed when sleeping near the edge of the bed. The customer service and return process was top notch and much appreciated. We really respect the company for this and wish we would've enjoyed the mattress. "

Our Top Mattress Pick: The Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress
Ultimately, after reviewing all of our research, we chose to purchase the Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress. The Sapira Hybrid Mattress is the perfect option for those looking to upgrade to a more premium, luxurious feel with pressure relief and support that lasts.
On the Sapira, we slept deeper, woke up feeling well-rested and energized, and loved the ergonomic, tension relieving design. The edge support is also fantastic and doesn't collapse when compressed. If you're looking for a better, balanced, comfortable sleep that won't cost you multiple thousands, Leesa's Sapira mattress is our #1 pick.
Here's a breakdown of how it's built. Take a closer look at the Sapira:
"It is so very comfortable! I haven't slept this well in years. It's soft enough to cradle, but not enough to sink. I love my mattress!"
- KIM T.
Leesa Hybrid Cover
Seamless, white and gray Hybrid cover is soft and looks so great you won't want to cover it with sheets (but we recommend you do!).

Memory Foam Recovery Layer
Memory foam provides enhanced body contouring, relieving pressure on your back, hips and shoulders.

Mattress Sleep Trials & Returns
Because the majority of online mattress brands don't operate out of a physical location (though you can find and experience Leesa mattresses in select retail locations like West Elm), it can be difficult to accurately assess qualities like mattress firmness, support, and comfort without interacting with the mattress itself.
To bridge the gap between the in-person mattress buying experience at physical mattress stores and the hands-off process of purchasing a mattress online, most online mattress companies offer a sleep trial period. This gives customers some time to test their new mattresses and return them if they aren't satisfied.
Helix offers a 100-night sleep trial with a mandatory, 30-day break-in period. After the break-in period is complete, you can initiate a return if the mattress isn't a good fit. For no extra charge, Helix will arrange to pick up the mattress from your home and transport it for recycling or donation.
Leesa’s sleep trial is 100 nights in length with no mandatory break-in period, but Leesa does recommend testing your mattress for at least 30 nights to allow your body to adjust to the premium level of ergonomic support (especially if your previous mattress wasn't a supportive one). If you choose to return your mattress at any point within the first 100 days, Leesa will issue a full refund coordinate a free mattress pickup.

Sapira Mattress Review
Check out this in-depth customer review for more insight into the experience of a Leesa Sapira mattress:
"I've had the Sapira for over a month now and I'm a believer. I did a lot of research on beds before making the purchase.
My previous bed was a Sealy Posturepedic that was 9 years old, so it was time for an upgrade. I wanted to buy something that didn't require going into a store that would try to upsell me (because frankly I'm always a sucker as tough as I try to negotiate). I also hate having to adjust my schedule to a 4-6 hours delivery window, so online mattress buying was the rout I decided to go.
I read all the reviews and found a few that gave additional perspective on the Sapira, Saatva, etc. Ultimately, I decided on Sapira because it was a new concept from the very well-reviewed Leesa mattress brand, the price point was fair, the materials and construction appeared well thought out, it was a hybrid mattress (really wanted to try a foam bed) and it would be delivered to my doorstep.
Fast forward to delivery... I enjoyed the opening process of the Sapira. It's fascinating watching these boxed mattresses come to life. Once you break the initial plastic wrap you just have to sit back and let gravity do all the work. The Sapira's cover was actually much nicer than i expected it to be. It is thicker than the pictures and online videos suggest and the texture/pattern is very nice. The mattress looks and feels substantial. As for comfort - I'm a 5' 7", 170 lb. male who sleeps on my side and stomach.
Coming from an Ultra Plush mattress I knew I was in for a different experience and I'm not going to lie, the first couple weeks were quite an adjustment. I wasn't sure I would like it long term but decided to give it some time. I'm glad I did because 3 weeks to a month in - this mattress has broken in very nicely.
Don't get me wrong it wasn't overly firm at first - it just wasn't what I was used to. But I'm fully satisfied now as I've gotten used to it. The edge support is very good ,there’s a nice, subtle bounce but that bounce does not carry throughout the mattress - so when my girlfriend stays over - we don't wake each other if one gets up in the middle of the night. I've also noticed that the mattress does not get too hot - which will be nice during a hot/humid Washington, DC summer.
You do sleep on the mattress rather than in it as other reviews have suggested, but it doesn't feel firm - it actually contours to my body nicely but it's not difficult at all to change positions. Overall, I highly recommend the Sapira. I feel you're getting a solid mattress at a good value. The fact that Sapira gives such a generous trial period is an added bonus."

Mattress Customer Reviews
A major part of our mattress buying process involved taking a look at customer reviews and experiences. Here are a few of the highlights that helped us decide which mattress was worth the buy and which brand we'd trust to deliver the best night's sleep:
Leesa Mattress Reviews
★★★★★
"I have never slept on a more comfortable mattress. It’s true… the mattress literally hugs and supports your body. For me, it has significantly lessened sleep discomfort associated with hip pain from biking, as well as morning stiffness. So glad my daughter, who has one, recommended it. Will also say that the mattress arrived within days of ordering it and it was easy to unpack. I’m using it with a standard box spring, which has been fine."
MARIA

"I've had my Leesa cal king for about a year now. Every night when we crawl into bed we always mention how awesome it is. I can't even get used to it. Every night I'm like, how is it possible to be astonished every single time I go to bed? I was literally just talking to my wife about how excited I was to go to bed in that masterpiece, and as we were fawning over it I thought, hey... we should probably actually leave a review. My back pain I've had since my twenties is basically gone now. I wake up more refreshed. As I ease into bed at night the worries and pains of the day melt away on this blissful magic cloud they're trying to pass off as a bed. This needs a Nobel prize. In literature even. Just get them one. They've earned it."

★★★★★
"We love our Leesa Legend! Feels firm but when you lay on it, it conforms to all the right places. We truly are sleeping better than ever. When we stay anywhere else we really realize how much we love our bed and can’t wait to get back to it! Customer service is also top notch. They make sure and take care of you if any need arises!"
CHELITA
★★★★★
"The Leesa Hybrid Mattress exceeds expectations... No more sore necks or low back pain for this side sleeper. I enjoy the overall feel and the bed sleeps cool. The strong edge support makes my full bed seem larger, I can sleep on the edge quite comfortably. Pleased side sleeper."

Comfortable, but not for me. Like my previous mattress I couldn’t stay asleep. With no real improvement on my sleep I had to look elsewhere.

"Comfortable but not cooling
I have had my Helix Midnight luxe with glacio-cooling topper for about a month now and so far I am underwhelmed. I do not notice any extra cooling with the added topper, in fact I actually have been sweating more at night. The mattress itself is comfortable but nothing extraordinary and my sleep quality has not changed since switching to this mattress. I am giving it more time but may end up returning.
