Ratings Breakdown
QUALITY
★★★★★
Everything about this pack is nice and high quality. The material and craftsmanship give me the confidence that it will last for years. Most importantly, it gives me the peace of mind that my camera equipment is going to be safe.
VALUE
★★★★
$129 for a backpack that keeps your camera gear safe is right in line with what you would expect for a well performing and built backpack like this. There are cheaper brands that claim to do the same thing. But they’re uglier and don’t have a lifetime warranty, or waterproof sleeve.
CUSTOMER
EXPERIENCE
★★★★★
My time wearing this backpack made it clear the level of thoughtfulness Brevite put towards fulfilling a photographer’s needs. I found it perfect for my camera gear with only the slight hiccup of not fitting my large laptop. Even if you aren’t a photographer this bag works well for a weekend trips or as a carry-on for the airplane.
BRAND
★★★★★
Brevite has good corporate values of which they seem to earnestly strive to uphold. I’m impressed by how they have begun integrating recycled material into their supply chain as of 2021. I think they may have a little bit further to go here to be a top of their class brand in this area but compared to their competitors they are in the top 10.
Who is Brevite?
Brevite first began after Brandon, an industrial designer, purchased a sewing machine. From that one transaction was born Brevite’s first prototype. From there, Brandon seems to have hit the ground running.
The next step in Brevite’s creation came when Brandon recruited his two younger brothers. His twin brothers both stepped up to the plate to help move them toward a product launch. There was Dylan who is now responsible for marketing and Elliot who manages the company finances.
After the initial camera backpack was launched, it took an additional five years to bring us where we are today. The brothers went through numerous prototypes with the goal of providing a better backpack. Now, the company’s home is in Brooklyn, NY where they continue to provide these innovative, hybrid-backpacks.
Now, as an established brand, Brevite also strives to give back to the community. Their initiatives surround helping those in by their $150K backpack donation for the homeless living in New York City and supporting the planet by committing to use recycled materials into every product Brevite offers by 2021.
Pros
- Stylish
- Comfortable even when full

- Side entry pocket is perfectly designed
- Shoulder straps adjust very well
Cons

The Brevite Backpack Performance And Testing
To get a good feel for this backpack, I moved all of the normal things that I carry in my traditional camera bag. For a month, I used this to transport everything I would need for a normal day’s work. I wouldn’t usually consider carrying a bag “enjoyable” but this was very easy to bring with me everywhere I went. I loved carrying this bag with me no matter where I was headed.
This bag is functional and easy to pack. The only problem I ran into came with my somewhat larger laptop. Unfortunately, my giant device did not fit into the designated pocket which means it is unlikely that I can use this as a long-term bag. That said, my older Dell XPS 15 laptop fit just right inside the pocket. If I had received this bag just a few months ago, it would have been perfect for me to use every day. All things considered, this critique only came up because I now carry a large gaming laptop which I use for photograph and video editing.
By far, my favorite aspect of the bag were the organizer pockets. It was really easy to organize each of the smaller items I carry with me for work. The space could hold my many SD card cases, the Bluetooth mouse I pack on the go, all of the dongle’s I need, and the adapters I use with my laptop. They were nice and secure in the compact, mesh compartment within the pocket.
Finally, the top area of the bag was a great “catch-all” for everything else I normally carry. It was perfect for holding spare batteries or sunglasses. Actually, anything I thought to bring with me seemed to fit just fine. I was even able to bring my Hydro flask thanks to the side pocket on this bag. Normally, I’d have to stuff that in with all of my other items which makes my other bags bulky. With The Jumper camera backpack, it was as if that side pocket was made specifically for the Hydro flask.

Brevite bags have gone through many prototypes to reach their current level. I was unable to find an exact outline of the materials used in their backpacks, but they do list some of their key features.
- Designed for photoshoots and everyday use
- Top Compartment to fit an extra set of clothes in the top compartment
- Separate laptop pocket fits up to 16” Macbook
- Quick access pocket on the side so you never miss a shot
- Secure Passport pocket for peace of mind.
- Luggage pass-through comfortably fits it on your suitcase
- Hidden Pocket: For valuables
Brevite currently offers two different options in camera backpacks. They have The Runner and The Jumper, but this review will focus on only their minimalist The Jumper camera backpack.
Their selection of bags come in a wide variety of colors from the dark Triple Black bag to the lighter Nimbus Gray. The bags are made from high-quality 600D polyester and come with a lifetime warranty.
The Jumper is designed to fit up to a 16-inch laptop, full-frame DSLR camera and an additional 3 lenses, 70-200mm lens or drone, extra clothes for when you’re on the go, your passport, tripod, a water bottle, and smaller items like SD cards. The camera backpack is made from 600D polyester which is one of the most widely used fabrics used for manufacturing bags. Affordable and durable, the benefits of this material allow for it to be abrasion resistant and weather resistant.
The company is based in Brooklyn, New York but The Jumper camera backpack is manufactured out of their New Jersey warehouse. They offer shipping both domestically and internationally. Additionally, free shipping is offered for the lower 48 states, and they offer a 30-day return policy for all purchases within the States.
When it comes to quality, we can’t leave out their design. According to their website, they say “We prioritize the industrial design of our products to bridge the gap between highly technical and everyday so that you can keep up with the demands of life. We focus on the right features, so they work the right way. Because sometimes less is more.” It’s great to see a company that wants form and function to work together. That passion really shows in the backpacks they are offering.
Is The Brevite Backpack Worth It?
If you’re in the market for a bag that you can use to carry camera equipment and can double as an everyday bag, then Brevite’s hybrid – The Jumper camera backpack – may be the perfect bag for you. They come in at $129 per bag, which is well inline with other bags that tout similar usability. But, with Brevite’s bag, they provide something that can stand up to wear-and-tear while looking good doing it.
Still, there are many other bags on the market that may be more cost effective if you’re only looking to protect your camera gear. Online stores as well as the traditional brick-and-mortar will offer camera bags at only a fraction of the price.
However, at lower price points, I believe you would be hard-pressed to find one that gave you the same carrying capacity or looked quite as good. Brevite’s The Jumper stands apart as something you can wear on the go whether or not you have your photography equipment in tow.
One of the highlights of this backpack is in its functionality. The camera carrying section has removable dividers. So, if you’re planning to pack a small carry-on as luggage, this would be a great option for a person on the go. Of course, their side pocket is perfect for something as large as a Hydro flask and the upper compartment can carry a change of clothes.
Brevite Coupons & Discounts
Browsing around Brevite’s website, I came across a couple of their money-saving options. Once you access their page, you’ll either experience a pop-up window or find the section on the homepage that offers a $10 instant savings. Just enter your email address and they will send you a confirmation.
Afterward, they will also send you update emails letting you know when their sales are taking place. I also found a $20 credit option when you refer a friend to their website. You get the chance to send your friend a $20 off credit and, once they buy, you get $20 to use yourself. It’s a win-win.

The Brevite Backpack Summary
When all is said and done, I really enjoyed this camera backpack. Brevite provides a high-quality, stylish, functional, and durable bag that fits my needs (except for the laptop pocket…). Considering what their competitors offer, I believe The Jumper is well priced and while giving a wide range of usability.
They are still relatively new to the market, but Brevite is making their mark with their minimalist daily backpacks. The Jumper is a great example of their desire to change the world for the better.
