“We had a 2018 Serta hybrid and then a more comfortable foam mattress made by a manufacturer for Tempur-Pedic, and neither could compare to the comfort of this Leesa hybrid. It is wonderful to lie down without questioning how restful the night might be. This mattress is very supportive without being too firm. It cushions the body without sinking into the mattress, and there is no difficulty changing position and no motion carryover to disturb a partner. Leesa took the risk out of buying a mattress online sight-unseen, but sleeping on a bad mattress even for a few days is still a risk no one wants to take. Frankly, though, there has been nothing not to like about this mattress, and it has given quality sleep since night one. We highly recommend this Leesa hybrid mattress.”

The Saatva Classic is Saatva’s most popular mattress, and is similar in construction to Leesa’s Sapira. Both feature a hybrid design, including layers of premium foam, memory foam, and an innerspring layer for support. While both mattresses are great options, multiple customer reviews express some concern over Saatva’s temperature regulation and overall comfort.

“This an average mid-priced mattress. I’ve now been sleeping on it for a month; it’s comfortable and I don’t wake up sore or aching anymore. The white-glove delivery was excellent, on time with pleasant and helpful personnel. A few downsides: I ordered the firmest version and still find it too soft. It sleeps VERY hot. And it has a weird horizontal ridge from side to side (the section where the tufting is closer together); it doesn’t bother me too much when sleeping but it looks obvious even under all my bedding. Overall, it’s a keeper because I got it at a steep affiliate discount, but if I had paid full price I’d probably return it.”

Our Top Mattress Pick: The Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress
Ultimately, after reviewing all of our research, we chose to purchase the Leesa Sapira Hybrid Mattress. The Sapira Hybrid Mattress is the perfect option for those looking to upgrade to a more premium, luxurious feel with pressure relief and support that lasts.
On the Sapira, we slept deeper, woke up feeling well-rested and energized, and loved the ergonomic, tension relieving design. The edge support is also fantastic and doesn’t collapse when compressed. If you’re looking for a better, balanced, comfortable sleep that won’t cost you multiple thousands, Leesa’s Sapira mattress is our #1 pick.
Here’s a breakdown of how it’s built. Take a closer look at the Sapira:
“It is so very comfortable! I haven’t slept this well in years. It’s soft enough to cradle, but not enough to sink. I love my mattress!”

Shipping & Delivery

Shipping
Leesa mattresses are compressed, vacuum-sealed, and shipped in a compact box directly to your doorstep – a method originally pioneered by Leesa Sleep as one of the first direct-to-consumer, online mattress brands.
Leesa offers free ground shipping anywhere in the U.S. Leesa’s free ground shipping extends to customers in all 50 states. Saatva does not deliver to customers in Alaska and Hawaii.
Fulfillment & Processing
Leesa mattresses are made to order, right here in the US, and ship within 3-5 business days, post-purchase. Saatva mattresses are also made in the U.S., and are delivered within 9-29 days after an order is placed.
White-Glove Delivery Options
Both mattress brands also offer a white-glove delivery option, which means they’ll send someone to help you set up your new mattress and (if needed) remove the bed you’re replacing along with any unwanted packaging.
For Leesa, optional white-glove delivery costs a $150 flat fee. Saatva’s white glove service is free, but this likely contributes to the higher price point for their mattresses.
“White-glove” delivery is also Saatva’s only delivery option, which, while presented as a premium service, reduces the convenience of a simplified online shopping experience. It requires the customer to schedule their mattress delivery and be available onsite through the entire window during which their mattress will arrive. Customer reviews express general dissatisfaction with Saatva’s third-party delivery service, as any miscommunication or change requires rescheduling and additional time away from work or other obligations while waiting for the delivery.

Mattress Sleep Trials & Returns

Because the majority of online mattress brands don’t operate out of a physical location (though you can find and experience Leesa mattresses in select retail locations like West Elm), it can be difficult to accurately assess qualities like mattress firmness, support, and comfort without interacting with the mattress itself.
To bridge the gap between the in-person mattress buying experience at physical mattress stores and the hands-off process of purchasing a mattress online, most online mattress companies offer a sleep trial period. This gives customers some time to test their new mattresses and return them if they aren’t satisfied.
Saatva offers a 365-night sleep trial – one of the longest sleep trials available across the entire mattress industry. Each of Saatva’s mattresses come with a 365-night home trial, so you have plenty of time to decide whether it’s right for you. If you decide to return or exchange your mattress for another Saatva mattress during your home trial period, they will pick up the mattress and refund your money, less a $99 processing fee.
Leesa’s sleep trial is 100 nights in length with no mandatory break-in period, but Leesa does recommend testing your mattress for at least 30 nights to allow your body to adjust to the premium level of ergonomic support (especially if your previous mattress wasn’t a supportive one). If you choose to return your mattress at any point within the first 100 days, Leesa will issue a full refund coordinate a free mattress pickup.

Sapira Mattress Review
Check out this in-depth customer review for more insight into the experience of a Leesa Sapira mattress:
“I’ve had the Sapira for over a month now and I’m a believer. I did a lot of research on beds before making the purchase.
My previous bed was a Sealy Posturepedic that was 9 years old, so it was time for an upgrade. I wanted to buy something that didn’t require going into a store that would try to upsell me (because frankly I’m always a sucker as tough as I try to negotiate). I also hate having to adjust my schedule to a 4-6 hours delivery window, so online mattress buying was the rout I decided to go.
I read all the reviews and found a few that gave additional perspective on the Sapira, Saatva, etc. Ultimately, I decided on Sapira because it was a new concept from the very well-reviewed Leesa mattress brand, the price point was fair, the materials and construction appeared well thought out, it was a hybrid mattress (really wanted to try a foam bed) and it would be delivered to my doorstep.
Fast forward to delivery… I enjoyed the opening process of the Sapira. It’s fascinating watching these boxed mattresses come to life. Once you break the initial plastic wrap you just have to sit back and let gravity do all the work. The Sapira’s cover was actually much nicer than i expected it to be. It is thicker than the pictures and online videos suggest and the texture/pattern is very nice. The mattress looks and feels substantial. As for comfort – I’m a 5′ 7″, 170 lb. male who sleeps on my side and stomach.
Coming from an Ultra Plush mattress I knew I was in for a different experience and I’m not going to lie, the first couple weeks were quite an adjustment. I wasn’t sure I would like it long term but decided to give it some time. I’m glad I did because 3 weeks to a month in – this mattress has broken in very nicely.
Don’t get me wrong it wasn’t overly firm at first – it just wasn’t what I was used to. But I’m fully satisfied now as I’ve gotten used to it. The edge support is very good ,there’s a nice, subtle bounce but that bounce does not carry throughout the mattress – so when my girlfriend stays over – we don’t wake each other if one gets up in the middle of the night. I’ve also noticed that the mattress does not get too hot – which will be nice during a hot/humid Washington, DC summer.
You do sleep on the mattress rather than in it as other reviews have suggested, but it doesn’t feel firm – it actually contours to my body nicely but it’s not difficult at all to change positions. Overall, I highly recommend the Sapira. I feel you’re getting a solid mattress at a good value. The fact that Sapira gives such a generous trial period is an added bonus.”

More Customer Experiences
A major part of our mattress buying process involved taking a look at customer reviews and experiences. Here are a few of the highlights that helped us decide which mattress was worth the buy and which brand we’d trust to deliver the best night’s sleep:
Leesa Mattress Reviews
★★★★★
“I have never slept on a more comfortable mattress. It’s true… the mattress literally hugs and supports your body. For me, it has significantly lessened sleep discomfort associated with hip pain from biking, as well as morning stiffness. So glad my daughter, who has one, recommended it. Will also say that the mattress arrived within days of ordering it and it was easy to unpack. I’m using it with a standard box spring, which has been fine.”MARIA
★★★★★
“I’ve had my Leesa cal king for about a year now. Every night when we crawl into bed we always mention how awesome it is. I can’t even get used to it. Every night I’m like, how is it possible to be astonished every single time I go to bed? I was literally just talking to my wife about how excited I was to go to bed in that masterpiece, and as we were fawning over it I thought, hey… we should probably actually leave a review. My back pain I’ve had since my twenties is basically gone now. I wake up more refreshed. As I ease into bed at night the worries and pains of the day melt away on this blissful magic cloud they’re trying to pass off as a bed. This needs a Nobel prize. In literature even. Just get them one. They’ve earned it.”JAKE
★★★★★
“The Leesa Hybrid Mattress exceeds expectations… No more sore necks or low back pain for this side sleeper. I enjoy the overall feel and the bed sleeps cool. The strong edge support makes my full bed seem larger, I can sleep on the edge quite comfortably. Pleased side sleeper.”EAN
Saatva Mattress Reviews
★★★☆☆
“It’s been a year and a half and I started with a Luxury Firm Comfort Level; which for me, was way too hard as predominately a side-sleeper. After some consultation a few months later, I swapped in out a for the Plush Soft Comfort Level, which is considerably better, but still fell short of ‘relaxation bliss’ I had hoped for. Choosing the right mattress is a difficult task for many people and a purchase is a lot of money. I’m disappointed I didn’t return it within the allotted time-frame. At some point, I’ll be looking for a replacement that will better fit my needs.”NIEL B.
★★★☆☆
“We are mostly satisfied, but we needed to add a thick wool topper to get completely comfortable. The edge support is lacking and the bed is a touch soft for my frame. I’m 6′ 195 lbs and I find that I sink a lot more than I care for. My wife is smaller is sleeps comfortably.”JOSHUA S.
★★★★☆
“This mattress did not work for me. It was too firm for my back and I have had to go in a different direction to be able to sleep comfortably. The reason I am giving this mattress a higher rating is because of their customer service. I contacted them to return the mattress and I will say they have gone above and beyond to assist me in light of the issues I have had. I can recommend this company because even though their product wasn’t the right fit for me, they did everything they could do to make it right.”LINDSEY
★★★★☆
“By reading the reviews and comparing this mattress to others, I selected this one as I thought it would be a great mattress…one that wouldn’t leave a “sinked in” impression after using it for a while. It took no time for me, and the other person sharing the bed, to create our own “impression” on the mattress. Since it took no time for this to happen, it is no better than any other mattress I’ve had, so that’s disappointing. But other than that, it is okay.”VEDA M.
