Why We Love Them

Youthforia’s fun, easy to apply makeup embodies the joyful spark of youth. It is made with real, sustainable ingredients, and all of Youthforia’s products are USDA BioPreferred, vegan, fragrance free, and made without phthalates or parabens. Another thing that we love about Youthforia: the products were tested with real people in mind. Founder Fiona Chen slept in the BYO Blush for two months as she developed the product and woke up with much better skin, confirming her belief that makeup and skincare should be connected. So while you should still cleanse after wearing makeup, you don’t need to worry about waking up to acne if you accidentally sleep with your Youthforia makeup on.

Origin Story

Youthforia was founded by Fiona Co Chan in 2020 right as COVID-19 hit. Chan kept thinking about how the best part of wearing makeup is going out with friends, but more often than not that means forgetting to take off your makeup and ending up with bad skin. Chan wanted to create a makeup product that was good for your skin and could act as skincare in its own right. She was also interested in the minimalist makeup trends that were taking over, and wanted to create makeup products that were easy and not messy. Through the development of Youthforia, Chan slept in all of the lab samples and woke up with much better skin. This completely upended her beauty routine philosophy and made her realize that makeup can be an extension of skincare with the right products. Chan was also passionate about creating a product that was sustainable and did not use fossil fuels, which she knew would be a big part of the Youthforia brand.

Youthforia products are uber high-quality, super safe for the skin, and good for the environment. Youthforia sells two main products: BYO Blush, a color changing blush oil, and Dewy Gloss, hydrating and nourishing lip gloss. Let’s take a deeper look at this:

The BYO Blush is the mood ring equivalent of a blush,. But this blush has a bit more science and accuracy than your old mood ring. BYO Blush is a buildable blush oil that reacts to your skin’s natural pH level to create the perfect shade. Free of fragrances and silicones, vegan, cruelty-free, and contains 98% bio-based content like avocado oil, rosehip oil, sunflower oil. It works with all skin types and skin shades, and gives every one who wears it their own unique color. Wear it on a bare face or integrate it in your full makeup routine; however you wear makeup, this is for you.

For those who are seeking the perfect luscious lip, Dewy Gloss may be your answer. Made with castor oil which acts as a natural inflammatory and calms dry skin, Dewy Gloss is like a soft kiss to your lips. It comes in five colors ranging from a sheer, cool tone with sparkles to a burnt brick. Every gloss is made with 0% fossil fuels. Dewy Gloss comes with a unique doe foot applicator that deposits more gloss on the tip which means it’s easier to create an ombré effect or precise lip lines at the cupid bows and corners of your lips.

Youthforia products are all USDA Biopreferred and follow Green Chemistry Principles. But what does that even mean? USDA Biopreferred means that a majority of the ingredients in its products do not contain fossil fuels AKA gases that harm the environment. Green Chemistry Principles outline 12 areas that would make a greener chemical, process, or product. It includes Prevention, Atom Economy, Less Hazardous Chemical Synthesis, Designing Safer Chemicals, Safer Solvents and Auxiliaries, Design for Energy Efficiency, Use of Renewable Feedstocks, Reduce Derivatives, Catalysis, Design for Degradation, Real-time analysis for Pollution Prevention, and Inherently Safer Chemistry for Accident Prevention.
