Billie

Women's razors and grooming essentials that are unfussy, clean, and confident.

About Billie

This body-positive brand’s ambition is to normalize body hair — whether it’s wild, tamed, or trimmed. Billie is a women’s bath, body, and beauty brand with a goal to make quality shaving supplies more accessible, effective and convenient with cartridges regularly delivered right to your door.

Why We Love Them

Finally, a female-first shave and body brand that isn’t afraid of body hair. The shaving industry was once entirely male-dominated before Billie stepped onto the scene (just check out shaving commercials — the women in them are shaving their pre-shaved legs. Weird? We think so too). Billie doesn't shy away from showing female body hair as it naturally appears. And while Billie's products are great, we love that this brand is normalizing the everyday routines for women by embracing the hairy reality of being human.

Origin Story

When Georgina Gooley, founder of Billie, discovered that women’s razors were unfairly priced compared to men’s razors just because they were pink, she knew she had a job cut out for herself. After working at an advertising agency as an account lead for Old Spice, she realized there was a gap in the market for a premium shaving experience for women. Billie was born so women could have the option to confidently flaunt, or not flaunt their fuzz. The global success of their Project Body Hair campaign celebrated women’s body hair and was widely praised, birthing an industry-wide trend of self-acceptance.

The Science & The Soul

The Science

Irritated skin from razor burn is so last year. With the Billie razor’s five-blade design, one can experience a closer, smoother and more effective shave. The razor’s design is modern, sleek, clean and lightweight. Their blades are made in America, surrounded by charcoal shave soap and dermatologist approved for sensitive skin. Billie isn’t just a razor company for Womankind, they have a whole line of clean beauty essentials like dry shampoo powder, plant-based face wipes, and a glossy, everyday lip balm.

The Soul

Billie was conceived in rebellion against the “pink tax” and aims to reimburse women for all the years they have spent over-paying for razors. The brand works to eliminate this antiquated, sexist pricing strategy and help women not only reclaim their body hair but the cash in their wallet as well. Billie has also recently donated $100K across Black Lives Matter and the NAACP and has a zero-tolerance for racism and systemic oppression. Now that’s a mission-driven brand with a cause we can certainly get behind.

Women have been craving authentic representation in advertising and Billie helps women feel empowered by showing off their strands of hair, wherever they may be. For over 100 years, women’s razor ads haven’t shown any actual body hair. Not even peach fuzz. Billie shows that having body hair is a choice and women can choose whether they want to shave, wax or grow their hair — and it’s all valid. Talk about a brand we’re proud to shower with.
