Sheertex

Indesctructible, rip-resistant tights for women.

About Sheertex

Made out of fabric that is 10x stronger than steel, yet still comfortable, Sheertex creates the strongest hosiery that will save you money, help the environment, and prevent the frustration that comes with ripping a pair of tights.

Why We Love Them

Say goodbye to the irritation and disappointment of putting your foot through your tights thanks to Sheertex.

Origin Story

Raise your hand if you’ve been personally victimized by a pair of tights ripping. Katherine Homuth was, and decided to fix it. She thought it was antiquated that no one had created tights that didn’t rip easily, and she set out to create them herself in 2017. By 2019, she and the team created a miracle fiber and manufacturing process that has become their Sheertex Knit. They took over the largest hoisery factory in Montreal, Canada and started producing stylish, ultra-durable tights for women. Named as one of Time’s Best Inventions of 2019, Sheertex now sells different tight styles, tones, and thicknesses for all your needs.

The TL;DR

  • Unbreakable tights that don’t rip (no, really — no runs)
  • More sustainable than normal tights, and long-lasting design keeps them on your legs and out of the landfill
  • Sizes XXS to 3XL
  • Variety of fun, stylish materials and designs

The Science & The Soul

The Science

Sheertex’s propriety fibers are 10x stronger than steel. While the exact details of their fibers are propriety and their knit is patent pending, Sheertex notes that the fabric they use to make their fibers is traditionally used in climbing and sailing equipment. Meaning, it’s durable and strong.

The fabric is pound-for-pound more valuable than silver, and it has been thoroughly tested to ensure it holds up even heaviest items (really, even a fire extinguisher did not break it.) Each pair comes with a 30-day good luck guarantee, so if you manage to break your tights within 30 days, they will replace yours for free.

The Soul

As many people try to use less fabrics and get rid of waste, tights are often without a non-wasteful alternative. Tights that break after as little as one wear head to a landfill when the hole renders them useless, and if you’re going through 20+ pairs of tights a year due to breakage, this is not great for the environment. That’s why Sheertex not only curbs the immense frustrations that come with ripping your tights, but also are good for the environment as they make you less wasteful. Plus, coming in sizes XS to 3XL, Sheertex are made to fit, and last, for everyone.
