The Science & The Soul
Rumpl has selected (and occasionally invented) insulation that works no matter the condition. Synthetic insulation include hollow fiber, and the premium range 100% post-consumer recycled NanoLoft® insultation. Natural insulation includes duck down and goose down: sustainable sourced goose down feathers have, says Rumpl, an unmatched warmth-to-weight ratio due to being highly compressible – they’re also treated with a hydrophonic coating to prevent loss of warmth when wet. And for anyone with sub-WWF biceps who’s about to embark on a long trek, you’ll be delighted to learn the application of science had made for a very lightweight result: just 2.1 lbs for a one-person blanket.
Rumpl says it’s committed to sourcing environmentally responsible materials, offsetting its carbon footprint, environmental advocacy, and supporting under-represented communities. That’s quite a mouthful, but in Rumpl’s case, it’s backed up by admirable business practices. The synthetic insulation and polyester in their best-selling products recycles millions of discarded plastic bottles each year. The carbon emissions of the entire company are offset to ensure Rumpl is climate neutral. Rumpl is a proud member of ‘1% for the planet’.
Rumpl supports many grassroot causes including Sheltersuit Foundation, the High Fives Foundation, the Episcopal Services Navigation Center, the Trevor Project, Save the Waves and First Peoples Fund. If you’ve noticed a distinctive outdoor theme to these causes, you’ve hit the bullseye. With its passion for the ‘hardcore gear and epic pursuits’ of outdoor life, one of Rumpl’s principle values is to ‘Embrace the Adventure’.
