Splendid Spoon Origin Story
Nicole Centeno has had a rollercoaster journey with food. As a young girl in the suburbs of Longmeadow, Massachusetts, Centeno loved tending to her mothers vegetable garden every summer. As she grew up, she looked at food with a scientific approach while studying biochemistry and diets as treatments for epilepsy. Centeno embarked on improving her relationship with food when she studied at the International Culinary Center in NYC. Once Centeno was pregnant with her first child, she re-evaluated her relationship with food again and realized that she relied too much on low-nutrient, convenient food that she could eat on-the-go. This set her on the path to create ready-to-eat plant based meals that are healthy and delicious. The result? Splendid Spoon.
