A self-proclaimed perfume nerd, Phil Riportella wanted to create a fragrance buying experience that would eliminate the unnecessary barriers that dominate today’s fragrance industry, to make it simple, easy, convenient, and affordable for people to shop premium fragrances online.
He joined forces with his close friend Bryan Edwards, and the two brought snif to life. Without any experience working within the fragrance industry, they were able to create snif’s signature three scents and pair it with the familiar ecommerce try-before-you-buy-model by speaking with target millennial and Gen-Z consumers.
