The quality of this makeup appears to go above and beyond any other traditional makeup. They appear to be inherently clean with their ingredient lists. However, they currently lack transparency regarding raw material sourcing or manufacturing though.
VALUE
★★★★
These makeup products fall into the middle of the road when it comes to pricing. They do offer bundling options to make them even more cost effective though.

EXPERIENCE
★★★★★
Youthforia makeup products perform even better than expected since they work with each person’s unique chemistry. They go on easy and the products come in fun packaging too.
BRAND
★★★★
This brand is fun and easy to use. The products look great in your purse and are striving hard to make a clean makeup product. They don’t currently have any philanthropic activities to push their message and products out there further, which would be nice to see.
Who Is Youthforia?
Youthforia was founded by Fiona Co Chan in 2020, right as the pandemic was hitting. Pandemic or not, this was a product line she had been interested in cultivating for years. She was at a point in her life where putting on makeup was something that happened regularly when she was going out to hit the town with her friends. But, when that happens, rarely do women have the time or wherewithal to remove makeup at the end of the night. And this can cause some long term side effects to your skin.
Plus, most makeup products contain hundreds of different chemical compositions that aren’t great for the environment or animals. And when these products are washed off, they end up in the water supply. Overall, the traditional makeup industry can be really harmful to the women that wear the products, the animals they get tested on, and the environment they are created in and washed off in.
It was time to create a cleaner solution to the makeup game that was also good for a person’s skin. So, her makeup line was created to work with the individual pH of people’s skin and help create better looking skin, while being inherently clean. Pretty smart, if you ask me.

Youthforia Products Application & Performance Testing
When it comes to makeup, I’m a pretty picky consumer. I don’t like to put toxic products into my body or on my skin. So, when I heard about Youthforia and their 98% biobased clean products, I knew I had to give them a try.
When I placed my order, they only had 2 product offerings: BYO Blush and Dewy Gloss. They now have a 3rd product offering: Pregame Primer. This is supposed to be a daily protective primer. I wish I could have tried this one out also. But alas, I was pretty darn happy with the two products I did try.
When I first got the products in, I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging. I unfolded the lime green and white branded box and was greeted with an adorable message: This is what you’d look like if you were a poptart packet. I thought that was hilarious and really caught my attention.
The playful note was complimented with a shiny silver (mirror) decal so that I could literally see what I’d look like as a pop tart. I’m actually pretty cute as a pop tart! Just these little touches gave me more warm and fuzzy feelings about Youthforia.
BYO Blush Review
The first product I tried was the Youthforia BYO Blush. All I had to do was unscrew the container and lightly dab my cheeks. The product had the appearance of clear oil.
I knew it was supposed to go through a color change to align with my individual pH. But when I watched it go through the chemical change to a gorgeous, bright pink color, I was amazed.
The shade reminded me of a tinted blush I purchased years ago from Benefit that I used up until the very last drop. It gave a nice pop of color to my cheeks. But a little definitely goes a long way, so no need to swipe the stick across the face to get a high impact look. I initially followed their directions to use a clean blush brush, but it didn’t quite give me the complexion I was looking for. So I decided to use my finger to apply small dabs across my cheek bone and then lightly blended it. This was a bit more dramatic of an effect, which I preferred.
Overall, I really liked this product and tested it out overnight to see how my skin felt. No issues at all with that, so the product seems to hold true to the brand claims on this front.
Dewy Gloss Review
After I tried the blush, it was time to try out the Youthforia Dewy Gloss. Let me preface this review by stating: I don’t wear lipgloss. Beyond my middle school days of excessively swiping Revlon and Chanel baby pink, sparkly shades across my lips, they haven’t been touched by gloss since. So this was going to be a new experience for my lips in adulthood.
On top of this, I was also hesitant to try Youthforia’s lip gloss because I tend to hate the ultra-shiny, sparkly look gloss gave me (that I adored so much) in my adolescence. But the blush performed so well that I was interested to check out the lip gloss and see how I felt about the products.
The first gloss I tried was #02 Coral Fixation. It looks like it’s going to be very pink, but when I swiped one layer on my top and bottom lips, I was pleasantly surprised. It provided a subtle shimmer without too much color. I chose to layer it over my favorite coral lipstick and loved the way it complimented my pout. Maybe I’m a changed woman and lipgloss will be back in my beauty bag rotation! The more layers of gloss you add, the more intense the sparkle and color get on your lips.
The second gloss I decided to adorn my lips with was the #01 Sound Stage. I was curious how the purple glitter contents of this bottle were going to look on my lips. Much to my surprise, I didn’t look like I had just dabbled in my first ever “makeup kit,” but instead felt ready to hit the town with my best girlfriends. The purple shade, much to my surprise, complimented the natural color of my lips and in no way read as “purple.”
Overall with both lip gloss options there will be a sparkle residue when it’s wiped off. So if you’re planning to plant any kisses on anyone, be forewarned that the world will know!
Is Youthforia Quality?
Overall, the ingredients list is exceptionally clean, vegan, sustainable and free of a ton of typical toxins. The list of toxic ingredients they won’t include in any of their products is pretty long, but some of the most common products Youthforia won’t allow are:
- EDTA
- Fragrances
- Formaldehyde
- Lead
- Parabens
- PEG’s
- Petroleum
- Phthalates
- Phthalates
I love the whole idea behind this makeup line and the ingredients they are using. My only potential beef with this brand is that they don’t list anywhere where they source their raw ingredients (are they organic, non-GMO, etc) or what their quality control processes are.
I realize that it can take companies a while to get this type of information available to the public. And creating quality control processes can take money and time that a lot of younger companies don’t have yet. Therefore, my hope is that as this company progresses, they will become more transparent about these important details so that consumers can be even more confident in their makeup products.
Is Youthforia Worth It?
Youthforia is on the cutting edge of clean makeup that conforms to individual skin, which is pretty awesome. The fact that their products fall into the mid-range of regular makeup products doesn’t hurt. Especially because their products fall into the clean, biobased genre also, which is typically more expensive.
The BYO Blush costs $36, but it can be a lot more cost effective if bundled with other products. The Dewy Gloss runs $26 for a tube, but can also cost less overall when bundled. And the Pregame Primer is $38, which gets cheaper when bundled.
Overall, it’s best to bundle all of the products with a blush brush and you’ll really get some bang for your buck. I love how easy all of these products are to use and how long they last while being clean. So, for me, and consumers like me, this price point is easily doable.

Youthforia Blush Summary
Overall, the concept for Youthforia can change the way we look at makeup today. Creating a line of makeup products that actually work differently and specifically for unique pH’s is pretty groundbreaking. And add in the fact that this line is biobased, vegan, cruelty free, and overall clean and you’ve got one heck of a product line.
It would be great to see more product offerings from them so that consumers could eventually have a whole makeup line in their arsenal. And once the brand has more transparency regarding supply chain and quality controls, it’ll be hard to stop them.
