Tradlands Clothing Review: A Women's Clothing Brand That’s Ethically Stylish

The Shelter Cotton Cardigan (Storm), The Haven Mock Neck Sweater (Black), The Finn Jumpsuit (Sand), and The Guide Coverall (Honey) are excellent representatives of the Tradlands brand. Each item is tailored with sustainable materials to compliment its own, unique look and feel and stylishly high-end design. Though the overall price tag leans a bit toward the expensive side, when compared to the length of time these materials will keep and taking the versatility of these pieces into account, it’s easy to say that these wardrobe staples are well worth the price and made to last.

In all honesty, I’ve worn this cardigan more than any other sweater in my wardrobe. It’s truly that comfortable. Whether I’m going out to dinner with my husband or simply lounging with my puppy on a slow Sunday morning, it’s the perfect top layer regardless of weather or occasion.

I feel no guilt acknowledging that I reach for it regularly. The Shelter Cardigan’s weight is light, yet warm and cozy mixed with a style and color that does feel fresh and trendy. The large, neutral-colored buttons line the front of the cardigan giving the perfect amount of contrast without being an eyesore. 

I will say though, it’s a slightly-oversized fit so I’d recommend sizing down if you’re looking for a more snug like. That being said, if you’re like me and love the loose look across your wardrobe staples, stick to your true size.

If you’re looking for a sweater designed to give you an elegant, effortless look, then this is for you. Like the Shelter Cotton Cardigan, the Haven Mock Neck Sweater‘s slightly oversized with a loose mock neckline and a longer body that extends past your waistline.

The dropped shoulder gives it a cozy-chic vibe, while the cut creates a look that feels timeless. As to the wear, the Haven is ultra-soft, but a bit itchy for those sensitive-skinned ladies like myself. 

To alleviate your concerns, if you get irritated easily by slightly scratchy fabrics, I threw a long-sleeve under the sweater to serve a dual purpose — a layer between me and the sweat/itch and extra warmth. 

The Finn Jumpsuit has a lovely, loose fit that’s easy to style with or without the belt, but if you’re looking for a cinched waist, add the tie. There’s no belt loops so where you cinch is up to you.

However, I preferred the Abbot Kinney vibe I got without it. The front opening has medium-sized buttons that are easy to get on and off and I was pleasantly surprised to find 4 deep pockets: 2 on the chest and 2 below the waist. These were great for lightweight items like a hair tie or sunglasses. 

The jumpsuit is also breathable, which goes well with the Spring /Summer season or can be easily layered under a sweater or paired with boots in the cooler seasons. Feel free to experiment with earrings, heels, sneakers to complete your look.

The Guide Coverall ended up being my go-to look. It required little accessorizing and was extremely snug and comfortable. The honey color, bold and vibrant, isn’t overpowering – it’s the perfect statement-neutral (yes, I know this sounds like a paradox) for a little pop of color that pairs well with a variety of natural outfit palettes.

I completed my look with my go-to black moto-boots and a black, vintage Coach satchel for a simple, understated aesthetic. While meticulously designed, it still gave me that perfectly worn-in-denim feel. The coverall also comes with waist buttons which will give you a more tailored fit if a loose mid-section isn’t your vibe. 

In contrast to the Finn Jumpsuit, The Guide Coverall has six pockets: two in the front, two at the chest and two in the back. They’re deep enough to store your phone, chapstick…or even a snack. But, be aware, the Tradlands clothing team kindly mentioned that this style runs small so they advise sizing up – typically, I wear a small, but the medium fits like a dream.

Due to the durability and longevity of the materials used to craft each item, I’d say the quality holds up pretty well. Besides the specific experience with the Haven’s itchiness (I saw customer reviews confirming the itchiness on the Tradlands site, so you might want to check before you buy), the overall quality of wear and care has been pretty consistent no matter how often I wear their products.

Tradlands uses a size guide to be as inclusive as possible for all body types and women’s needs. Furthermore, along with all of their clothing options, they have a section dedicated specifically to Plus-Size silhouettes, so that women of all shapes and sizes can find clothing that’s been created with their needs in mind. 

No matter which item catches your eye, it’s important to pay attention to the materials present in each item — because not only will that inform how you wear a specific piece, but how you care for it. Tradlands has gone to great lengths to make sure each product is expertly crafted and of the highest quality and lasting materials. The information on their material makeup will always be on the product page when you buy as well as on the product tags itself when it arrives.

• Shelter Cotton Cardigan – Make sure to purchase this cardigan true to size. It’s tailored to be loose fitting. Too small, you may be disappointed, too big, you may be engulfed.
• Haven Mock Neck Sweater – This is also a true to size fit, albeit an oversized fit. Works extremely well as an outer layer and can prevent the itch to sensitive skin. 
• Finn Jumpsuit – Snug as long as you stick to the Size Guide and order true to your size. Don’t mess around here. It’s a moisture wicking design, breathable and crafted to break in with wear.
• Guide Coverall – This Coverall runs small so make sure to purchase a size up for the best fit. You may also want to double-check the arm length on a size-up purchase regardless. If you have long arms, you may be left wanting in look despite the comfort of the outfit.

In my opinion, if you can get beyond the high-price point: Yes.

Finn Jumpsuit – Made of 70% Tencel and 30% linen. You should Machine Wash it Cold and hang to dry. Hanging it helps to keep the material breathable and less likely to add wrinkles.
