I think my back is trying to kill me in my sleep. Okay, it’s really the mattress because I have a confession: I’m guilty of still using the one from my college days. “We listen, and we don’t judge,”... right?”
While I’m all for preserving nostalgia, my back isn’t. And, while my boyfriend won’t admit it, our full-sized bed needs a serious upgrade. But I refuse to shop in person. Pushy salespeople who want me to “test out” a mattress that’s double my budget? Nope. So, I’m doing what anyone from the 21st century would: turn to the internet.
I see New York Post’s article about Mattress Firm’s semi-annual sale, but I’m usually skeptical about these alleged “splurge-worthy” finds. What are the prices? Oh… those aren’t so bad. Affordable, actually. And there’s more than mattresses on sale?? At these prices, I’m grabbing things for my whole bedroom.
Here’s what I’m ordering from Mattress Firm 👇
Mattress shopping
First things first, my saggy and lumpy mattress has got to go! While I know there are cheaper ones on Amazon, you get what you pay for. I want something that says “affordable” but also “will last without having to do this again in two years,” you feel me?
I’m a little overwhelmed by all the choices, but a Sealy Posturepedic® mattress is catching my eye. Honestly, the brand name draws me in, but I love how it’s breathable and has a medium amount of support — I don’t want anything too stiff.
It also comes with a free adjustable base, is 30% off, and delivers free during this sale! Since my boyfriend’s birthday is coming up, I can make this part of his gift even though we both get to use it.
A little more bedroom shopping
You can’t just drop me into a huge sale and expect me to leave with only one thing. I blame New York Post for telling me about the secret deals Mattress Firm has been dropping all these years. This is what’s in my cart now:
• For my back… a Shiatsu back and neck massager. I'm hoping I won’t need this with the new mattress in tow, but I often spend hours hunched over my computer, which leaves my shoulders achy, too.
• For the new bed… a comforter set. It feels wrong to throw the old comforter on a beautiful mattress, and my boyfriend and I could use a more “adult-looking” set anyway.
• For my pup… a luxury dog bed. Yeah, Mattress Firm sells mattresses for dogs! I can’t treat everyone in the house and leave my dog out (and hopefully, this is a bed he decides is too nice to tear up).
Sweet dreams are made at Mattress Firm (online)
Who knew Mattress Firm had so much more than, well, mattresses? Definitely not my wallet. I normally spend weeks thinking over a big purchase like this, but I don’t want to miss out on saving hundreds of dollars, so I’m placing my order now. Plus, I’m way too impatient to be the owner of a super comfy mattress, a relaxing massager, a stylish comforter set, and one very pampered pup.
Just a tip: Double-check your order before hitting that "confirm" button. Nobody wants to deal with returns or restock fees! I even measured my bedframe and doorways to make darn sure the new mattress would fit.
If you want to upgrade your sleep game (or anything else bedroom-related *wink*), check out Mattress Firm’s semi-annual sale. You’ll be surprised by what you find.
