Ratings Breakdown
QUALITY
★★★★★
The quality of the products seems great. I feel that overall you’re getting what is advertised, and I did notice a positive effect on my skin.
VALUE
★★★★
The products I had a good experience with feel worth the money. Each should last a long time, since little goes a long way.
CUSTOMER
EXPERIENCE
★★★★★
Overall, the products I used met the marketing claims and my expectations. I loved several, one even more than I expected to, and am still on the fence about the last. The lack of organic ingredients lowered the score slightly for me.
BRAND
★★★★★
This brand is new to me and I am very happy with everything I read about them. Their mission is to “create affordable, plant-powered skincare treats that are kind to your skin and give you results that you can see and feel good about.” I hope to see them offering organic products or more organic ingredients in their products.
Who Is bioClarity?
bioClarity is an independent skincare brand launched in 2016 by biotech entrepreneurs David Hale, Cam Garner, and (current CEO) Rick Sliter. bioClarity was initially created to provide natural options for those wanting effective acne solutions without the harsh side effects of traditional acne products.
The line began with their patented Floralux. unique to bioClarity. It is a plant-based ingredient sourced from chlorophyll, copper, and other antioxidants that bioClarity says is designed to reduce redness, even out skin tone, support collagen, and fight acne-causing bacteria.
The idea behind bioClarity was not just to take bad ingredients out, but to actively put good ones in. They do this by combining Floralux with other natural botanicals and regular acne treatments like salicylic acid.
Their acne line is promoted to calm skin, reduce redness, refine pores, and target acne-causing bacteria. But bioClarity offers more than just acne solutions.
Pairing what Sliter calls “the power of plants and the smarts of science,” bioClarity offers many other products suitable for all skin types to hydrate, moisturize, help with fine lines, address uneven texture, and protect from sun and pollutants.
With the mission of crafting affordable skincare using plant actives to improve skin health with lasting benefits, all bioClarity products are vegan, plant-based, non-toxic, and cruelty-free as certified by Leaping Bunny. A majority of the packaging is recyclable.
bioClarity is part of Adigica Health, Inc. and is headquartered in San Diego, CA. They market and sell mostly direct-to-consumer to reduce product costs.

bioClarity Experience And Performance
The first thing I loved about the bioClarity products is what they call their “Nope List”—“No toxins. No sulfates. No parabens. No harmful preservatives. No synthetic colors or fragrances. Ever.”
Check here for a full description of ingredients used as well as of all the toxins, irritates, and preservatives that they DON’T use.
Before Using Bioclarity
Diving into this kind of skincare with vegan, plant-based, and certified cruelty-free options available was a joy. I am very particular about the skincare products I use. I researched ALL the ingredients on the labels of the products I used on EWG (since the products themselves were not listed on the site) and decided I felt comfortable trying them.
Everyone’s skin is different of course, and each person will respond to products differently. BioClarity has a handy Skin Quiz as well as a chat feature and quite an informative website if you are not sure what kind of skin you have or what products to buy.
They also have samples available for free with each purchase, which is a great way to try your next new favorite.
To give perspective on my review, I have sensitive skin that is prone to dryness and redness. I live in Phoenix, Arizona, so I am exposed to intense heat and a very dry climate. Hydrating, nourishing, and calming my skin are among my most important skincare goals.
While I did not test it all, bioClarity also offers their full line specifically geared towards clearing acne naturally and at a very reasonable price point. Most items range from approximately $10 to $25, or $40 to $50 for a 3 or 4 piece set.
I tested the Barefaced Exfoliating Enzyme Jelly Cleanser, the Drink It Up Serum, the Pore Purifying Mask, and the Restore Treatment (part of their Clear Skin Routine).
The Cleanser
Barefaced Exfoliating Enzyme Jelly Cleanser ($19.95/5 fl. oz. before discounts)
The Barefaced cleanser feels wonderful on my skin and the smell is so yummy! As a yoga instructor, I often go to different locations and I’m in and out of the car throughout the day. My skin is repeatedly exposed to pollutants and dust, and I have to wear a mask for part of the day.
This cleanser felt gentle enough to use morning and night. I feel that it helped my skin to stay clean and hydrated.
The Serum
Drink It Up Super Hydrating Serum ($29.95/1 fl. oz. before discounts)
This oil-free serum is wonderful! With the dry heat I am exposed to and already being prone to dry skin, I found this serum to be truly super hydrating.
I would even put it on twice a day if I had time to stop by the house between clients. It feels like it hydrates my skin as well as Vitamin E oil or jojoba oil but without the feeling of my skin being oily. Love love love it!
The Mask
Pore Purifying Mask ($24.95/2 oz. before discounts)
The Pore Purifier mask is great. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. During the mask treatment you can feel it working right away. I put it on, watched an episode of one of my shows and when I washed it off my skin felt great!
I put some hydrating serum on after and my face felt fabulous. I think I looked like I was literally glowing.
The Treatment Gel
Restore Treatment Gel ($27.95/1.75 fl. oz. before discounts)
I am not sure how I feel about the Restore. I am all about doing things as naturally as possible and I’m not afraid of things smelling like green superfoods. Still, the smell of Restore was off-putting to me. In my personal opinion, it smells like it has a chemical undertone. I also didn’t notice that it added any benefit to my skin.
Bioclarity Testing Results
Product containers are fun and refreshing colors. I also appreciated the clear and detailed recycling instructions.
After my experience with the bioClarity products, I love and would buy the Barefaced Cleanser, Drink It Up Hydrating Serum, and the Pore Purifier Mask. I don’t feel that I would use the Restore Power of Green again.
I am also curious about some of their other products and would be thrilled to see organic options.
While it’s wonderful that the products are non-toxic, I wish the ingredients were organic (or as many of them as possible). I like this company and what I feel they stand for, and adding organic elements seems like the next health-conscious and environmentally responsible step for them to take.

Barefaced Exfoliating Enzyme Jelly Cleanser

Go naked, and by that we mean your face! This non-foaming jelly cleanser gently exfoliates and deeply cleans while clearing and purifying pores. Your skin will look brighter and feel softer, smoother, and nourished—never tight or dry.
SHOP NOWIs bioClarity Good Quality?
In my experience, yes. My dryness-and-redness-prone skin really loved the effective hydration of the Barefaced Cleanser specifically, as well as the Drink It Up serum and the Pore Purifier mask. I actually did see a difference in my skin with the hydration, and the mask made my skin glow.
One of bioClarity’s strongest selling points is the gentle but effective ingredients used. These products take out harsh and potentially harmful ingredients, synthetic scents, and artificial colors. Instead, they use powerful, soothing, healing plant-based formulations. Specifically, their Floralux includes chlorophyll and copper to help nurture and protect skin.
Other key ingredients include:
- Antioxidants like green tea to protect skin
- Licorice root to help brighten skin
- Papaya and pineapple exfoliating enzymes to smooth and clear skin
- Salicylic acid and kaolin clay in select products to work on acne-causing bacteria and clear pores
- Squalane to moisturize, soften, and soothe skin
- As well as jojoba, aloe, grapeseed, chamomile and many other healing, clearing, brightening plant-based ingredients
Combine all these in recyclable packaging and a cruelty-free certification by Leaping Bunny and you have a quality skincare line that has been featured in health and beauty publications like Well Good, Byrdie, Health, Cosmopolitan, and Teen Vogue.
Is bioClarity Worth It?
Definitely Yes. Most individual products come in between $15 and $30, with only the mineral sunscreens and multiple-item sets a bit higher.
As for the Barefaced Cleanser specifically, I found a price point under $20 for 5 fluid ounces to be extremely reasonable for effective hydration. Even using it twice a day should last you a long time since a little goes a long way (don’t over-cleanse!).
For plant-based, vegan, cruelty/toxin-free skincare with a wide range of effective products, these values are hard to beat.
